The job was a tough one because it involved extending a roof over a poorly built previous addition to the house. What a mess the back of this short-sale home was when we bought it. But we saw the potential, and so did Doug King. Not only did his team build a roof extension that matched perfectly the lines of the existing roof, and pour a beautiful concrete floor, they also re-routed the main electrical box and worked around the air-conditioning unit (saving us plenty).
Doug also saved our skins when he managed somehow to fold in a permit for a door that my husband installed (who knew you needed a permit for replacing a jalousie door?!) and noted that the unstable angle-iron supports for the carport and front porch needed to be replaced. Now, with the concrete roof columns anchored to the front and back of the roof we are saving money on our insurance. And we believe that if a hurricane ever rips through the area our house will be one of the few in Gulfport that retains its roof. West Coast Remodelers not only did a great job at a great price, but they also gave us peace of mind. Thank you Doug and your team at West Coast Remodelers.

We worked with Doug King and West Coast Remodelers & Construction Inc. on the remodel of the kitchen in our 1970s Florida-style ranch home. The goal of the remodel was to increase storage, update the look and make the room more user-friendly and functional for our active family of four. Budget and keeping the remodel within the existing kitchen footprint were paramount. Keeping to the project timetable was also important as I work from home. I hired West Coast Remodelers to remodel 3 bathrooms in my townhouse. The work was done while my wife and I still lived on premises. My family has owned a house in Redington Beach for over thirty years and we experienced our first taste of damage in 2006. The aftermath of our first contractor's negligence was $75,000 of damage. The second contractor took a $13,000 deposit and never started the job. The best part about that story was I met a man named Doug King.
It is hard being in Ohio and trying to get a project done in Florida but all that was solved when I found West Coast Remodelers and Construction. Doug King provided an exceptional level of service in the redesign of our condo including complete renovation of the kitchen, two bathrooms and flooring. He provided excellent insights on bringing our designs to life.
Our biggest challenge was trying to find and work with a contractor from a distance. Doug made this seamless by meeting with us on short notice, producing plans and detailed budgets. He followed up with great customer service as the work progressed, obtaining permits, sourcing materials, providing photos of the work and called to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. When we arrived to see the finished product, we were thrilled with the results.

It started with your professional approach at our very first meeting and continued through conclusion of the project. While I had a general idea of what I wanted, your recommendations during the design phase were very helpful. During the actual construction, your hands on management and the direction you personally provided the various contractors at each phase of the work was critical to achieving a high quality job. In any job of this nature there are bound to be changes, corrections and a few anxious moments. Regardless of the issue, you handled it diplomatically and to our complete satisfaction.
